We celebrate performers who lean over glowing hardware interfaces, shaping living textures, evolving filters, performing electronic compositions and soundscapes.

Every generation of electronic musicians develops its own stage presence - or apparent lack of one.
In the late '80s and early '90s Shoegaze bands became synonymous with performers seemingly transfixed by the floor, surrounded by pedals and lost in oceans of reverb and feedback.
Today's electronic music composers and performers have inherited the same spirit; only the gaze has shifted a few feet higher!
It's not really a genre but more an attitude with a culture of musicians who treat the electronics as a living instrument in constant negotiation.
Melodies are only a starting point, the real performance happens in the hands hovering over filter cutoffs, modulation depths, envelopes, wavefolders, sequencers and effects.
Every subtle adjustment rewrites the music in real time.
Tactile sonic immersion
Knob Gaze isn't about virtuosity in the traditional sense, but more about immersion.
It's about the pursuit of evolving textures rather than perfect notes, of atmosphere rather than spectacle. It celebrates curiosity over choreography, experimentation over certainty, and the understanding that the defining moment of a performance might not be a keyboard solo, but from the slow turn of a filter knob, the retriggering of a sample, or the unexpected interaction between two devices.
To the uninitiated, a Knob Gaze performance can appear almost motionless: a performer leaning over a rack of controls (some illuminated), making adjustments while sonic landscapes emerge from the speakers. Look closer, and you'll find an improvisation every bit as physical as jazz, every bit as expressive as a guitarist coaxing feedback from an overdriven amp.
The instrument isn't just being played - it's being continuously rebuilt.
In a world dominated by visual spectacle, we prioritize deep listening. Every filter sweep, oscillator detune, and decay adjustment is an expressive decision. There is no crowd animation — only shared absorption in evolving performance.
